Liquid metal mercury has mesmerized humans for thousands of years.
Mercury "silver" amalgam tooth fillings are ALWAYS leaching toxic mercury into the mouth, brain, and gut.
Mercury containing lightbulbs break easily needing profession cleanup crew in hazmat suits.

Each metal poisons differently

Introducing... Mercury (Hg)

ancient name: hydrargyrum from the Greek                hydrargyros meaning 'water' and 'silver'

How long will we debate whether or not a poison is poisonous?

Poisonous to us? To our kids? To our animals?

Mercury was first smelted and "discovered" before 1500 BC.   Mercury was first used in industry before 500 BC.  Mercury has been known to be a potent neurological poison since around 500 BC.  Mercury was first used in dentistry before 1840.  Anti-mercury legislation first began in the year 1970.  Today, Mercury is a global health hazard, and still in use in every country.  Mercury is considered to be the single most poisonous element on planet Earth.
COMMON SOURCES of MERCURY EXPOSURE
  • air pollution: particulate matter from coal-fired power plants carried far by weather patterns  (https://www.epa.gov/mats/cleaner-power-plants)

  • dental amalgam (called "silver" dental fillings)

  • fungicides, preservatives, antiseptics

  • bathroom cabinet mercurochrome / merbromin disinfectants

  • pharmaceuticals, especially multi-dose vials of vaccines

  • veterinary vaccines for pets and farm animals

  • eating fish

  • novelty jewelry containing "liquid metal"

  • broken measuring devices, such as thermometers and barometers.

  • broken electric switches and relays in equipment.

  • broken lamps (including some types of light bulbs)

  • skin-lightening products and other cosmetics.

  • school and university science classroom labs

  • batteries.

  • burning wastes that contain mercury

The levels of methylmercury in fish and shellfish depend on:

  • What they eat

  • How long they live

  • How high they are in the food chain

In a given water body, the highest concentrations of methylmercury are generally found in large fish that eat other fish.

Symptoms associated with toxic levels of Mercury

ADD, ADHD, cognitive, paranoia, central nervous system, autism spectrum disorders, neural integration issues.

Tips on testing for Mercury in the body
EDTA challenge tests will not pick up mercury that is there.  ALA can locate mercury hidden in deep nerve or other fatty tissues.  Hair analysis must be interpreted by an expert to identify the mineral imbalances that "hidden mercury" will cause.

When Mercury is stirred up by challenge tests, symptoms are likely to worsen temporarily or until Mercury levels are brought down.  "Silver/mercury" dental amalgam tooth fillings in your mouth may cause mobilization of mercury even during a single challenge test, so read up on that if you have them.

Tips on Chelation of Mercury from the body

  • It OSR/NBMI/Emeramed/Irminix is the SAFEST way to chelate mercury in the body, but this compound is not yet fully approved by the US FDA

  • It is unwise to chelate (remove) mercury from the body before all mercury amalgam fillings are removed.  Amalgam fillings covered in caps may be "safe" during chelation, but also may not be, depending on x-rays and proximity of filling to jaw.

  • Gold and mercury in the mouth causes faster leeching of Mercury into saliva which is then absorbed by the gut.

  • DMPS is widely agreed to be the best chelator for Mercury, however it is "so good" that it may also port Mercury back INTO the nervous system.

  • DMPS is only legal for use by some doctors in some states in the US.  Check your local board of health.

  • Chelation of Mercury is fairly tricky using any chelator, including NBMI, according to online patient experience, dating back to 1998.  Indeed hundreds of alternative medicine websites and books discuss the complexities.

THE SCIENTIFIC CASE AGAINST SILVER/MERCURY AMALGAM FILLINGS

Some symptoms associated with toxic levels of Mercury

Tips on testing for Mercury in the body:

When Mercury is stirred up by challenge tests, symptoms are likely to worsen temporarily or until Mercury levels are brought down.  "Silver/mercury" dental amalgam tooth fillings in your mouth may cause mobilization of mercury even during a single challenge test.

Tips on Chelation of Mercury from the body:

It is unwise to chelate (remove) Mercury from the body before all mercury amalgam fillings are removed.  Amalgam fillings covered by caps may be "safe" during chelation, but also may not be, depending on x-rays and proximity of filling to jaw.  Gold and mercury have a very strong attraction for each other. Gold and mercury in the mouth causes faster leeching of Mercury into saliva which is then absorbed by the gut to poison the body. OSR/NBMI (since 2010) is agreed to be the best and safest chelator for Mercury. DMPS is very effective, however it is "so good" that it may also port Mercury back INTO the nervous system so using is safely is a challenge; its use is therefore illegal in many US states.  DMPS is only legal for use by some doctors in some states in the US.

Recommended Books on Mercury Poisoning

Dr Mark Breiner, dental surgeon in CT, in 2011, wrote Whole Body Dentistry
Book is written for average patients with no medical background. Nice section reviewing the history of the amalgam battles that go back 150 years.

The first 'modern times' book on mercury (although many dentists have been fighting amalgam use for 150 years...)
